"I absolutely love my pillowcase. Total game changer for my hair routine"

Charmeuse silk weave

Like an 8 hour hair mask for strands, our silk pillowcase curbs damage from the source by opting for 100% pure Mulberry charmeuse silk. That's a smoother, softer. and gentler silk than any other pillowcase blend.
Charmeuse silk weave is an intricate process that produces an extra smooth and shiny finish on the outside of the pillowcase, in exchange for a duller finish on the inside. Making it decadently smooth where your head needs it most.

We're changing what beauty sleep means

There's lots of competish in the silk world, which is why it goes through several grading systems! For quality. silk is graded on scale of A-C and 1-6. For letters. A is the best (of course!) and any number close to 6 means it's of high quality. Kinda like this Grade A6 pillowcase we got goin' on over here.

How is The Pillowcase different to other silk pillowcases?

We constructed this silk pillowcase using certified 100% Mulberry Silk (Grade A6). Centuries-old reparative mulberry silk is the strongest and smoothest silk in the world. And we weave it using a friction-fighting method called Charmeuse. This weaving technique creates a luxuriously light, smooth, and shiny finish that’s even gentler on hair. Bonus fact: silk is graded on a scale of A-C and 1-6; grade A being the best and any number close to 6 being the highest quality. Kinda like this Grade A6 ‘case you got in your hot little hands.

What's ‘The Pillowcase’ size & dimension?

The Pillowcase is a standard Australian queen size, 76cm x 51cm.

How many pillowcases per order? Do you sell sets?

1 Pillowcase comes in each order; if you wish you purchase two or more, please email hello@sittingprettyhalohair.com.

How do I wash The Pillowcase?

Hand wash ‘The Pillowcase’ in cold water or toss it in the machine on a delicate cycle. Your silk pillowcase will love you more if you use a delicate bag and gentle detergent. Rinse with a few drops of vinegar and hang to dry. Do not tumble dry, and do not dry in direct sunlight.

Is this pure silk?

Of course, we use only the best for our hair! The Pillowcase is certified 100% Pure Mulberry Silk (Grade A6).

Will my pillowcase feel less soft after I wash it?

Air-drying silk often makes it stiff. One solution to this is to shake it a few times while it's drying. But it will soften again once you use it.

Why the big price tag?

When developing The Pillowcase we took every precaution to ensure we're using only the best silk. We tweaked every characteristic of our silk (even down to the weaving method) to make it as soft and gentle on your hair as possible. And the results are astonishing.

Can I iron my silk pillowcase?

Yes, you can iron The Pillowcase. Turn it inside out and iron it on the lowest setting. Do not leave the iron in one place for too long. Silk is very delicate, and just like your precious hair, the less heat, the better!

Does The Pillowcase work with curly hair?

Absolutely, The Pillowcase is suitable for all hair types.

Does The Pillowcase work for thin hair?

For sure! In fact, it was developed specifically for women with thin, fine or damaged hair, to help them repair their hair.

How is silk good for your hair?

Silk in general is much better for your hair than regular cotton pillowcases because of the smoothness of the silk fibers, compared to that of cotton. Cotton is a highly friction-causing fabric. Throughout the night as you sleep the friction caused by the cotton pillow case on your hair will slowly break away at the hair fibers, causing them to weaken. In addition to this, cotton absorbs moisture, so laying 8 hours a night on your cotton pillowcase will cause a lot of your moisture to absorb from your hair (and your face) into your cotton pillowcase, causing a lot of unwanted dryness. And lastly, cotton causes static electricity to build up in your hair. This increase the frizziness of your hair fibers and makes your hair harder to manage. On that contrary, silk is a super-low friction fabric, it doesn't absorb moisture from your hair (or your face), and it doesn't cause static electricity build up in your hair.

The difference between our The Pillowcase and other silk pillowcases is that we've tweaked every possible characteristic of our silk, from the type of silk used, down to the minutest detail such as the weaving method used, to ensure The Pillowcase is the softest, gentlest and most caring pillowcase for your hair.

Our mission was to create the BEST pillowcase for fine, thin or damaged hair, and we did it!

Is it hypoallergenic?

The Pillowcase is perfect for people who are looking for allergy-friendly options. Silk fibres are naturally coated with a protein known as sericin. Sericin repels dust mites, which are a major source of allergic irritation. Sericin also makes silk resistant to mould, fungus, and bacteria. This means silk fabric is naturally hypoallergenic.

Is it safe to wear my halo while sleeping on the silk pillowcase?

Technically, yes. But officially: the halo is just for daywear. When going to sleep, pop your halo somewhere safe (wrapped flat in a silk scarf or hanging on a close hanger), ready for the next day.

How frequently should it be washed?

For The Pillowcase, we suggest washing it regularly as it comes into contact with your skin & hair's natural oils. Typically every 7-10 days.

How long will the quality of the silk pillowcase last?

Silk is delicate, but so is your hair. That's why we opt for The Pillowcase If you’re looking for less breakage, frizz, tangles and increased shine.

When using The Pillowcase daily, we suggest re-purchasing every 12 months for optimal results.

Return/exchange policy (e.g. if there's loose stitching) how many days is it eligible for an exchange?

You can return your items within 30 days of the original shipment date.

- It must be in original condition
- It must be completely unused (the box seal must remain unsealed).
