Briogeo's hair oil doesn't just look pretty, it really works. As a clinically-tested oil, it's proven to repair up to 88% of damaged hair after 2 uses.

We're not surprised, since it's fortified with ceramides, rose flower oil, and a macadamia nut derivative.

It's the best hair oil for fine hair as it's fast-absorbing and provides lightweight hydration. It won't weigh your hair down, just smooth out frizz, block humidity, and boost shine.

7. Best hair oil for frizzy hair: Kerastase Elixir Ultime Original Hair Oil

Kerastase's hair oil may seem like it's overhyped, but trust us, it's worth it.

Elixir Ultime contains marula oil, camellia oil, corn germ oil, pracaxi oil, and argan oil to smoothen each hair fiber and provide long-lasting frizz control. Did we mention it also helps seal split ends and provides heat protection for up to 230 degrees?

No need to use a separate heat protectant with this (but you still can for double protection) as it's already a hair oil, leave-in treatment, and heat protectant in one.

13. Best hair oil for after styling: Gisou Honey Infused Hair Oil

Gisou's Honey Hair Oil is actually quite thick (just like honey), but we found the littlest amount is enough to bring back our hair from the drying and damaging effects of heat styling.

What we like to do is first, apply a heat protectant all over our hair, curl or straighten it, then let it cool down. Once the hair is no longer warm, we apply a few drops of Gisou for extra shine and softness.

How To Use Hair Oil on Your Hair

Hair oil is more than a leave-in treatment after you shower. In fact, these are our favourite ways to incorporate them to our routine!

  • Pre-wash treatment: Whenever I have dry flakes on my scalp, I massage jojoba oil on it and leave it for 10-15 minutes. This pre-wash treatment gets rid of dandruff better than any drying shampoo out there. Word to the wise, when using hair oil pre-shampoo, make sure you wash it out completely after. I usually shampoo my scalp at least 2 times to ensure it's completely removed. Otherwise, old oil sitting on your scalp could result in the opposite of what you want it to do.
  • Hot oil treatment: If you have low porosity hair, brittle, or frizzy hair, you'll love this method as the oil absorbs better into your hair cuticles, resulting in it looking healthier, shinier, and smoother. Make sure your hair is clean before doing this and to have a shower cap on hand—this will create the "hot" environment for your hair to absorb the oil.
  • Post-wash: What's the best way to seal in your hair's moisture? With a hair oil! If you want to help it absorb better, I sometimes love mixing it with a hair serum or leave-in conditioner.
